Soon thereafter,Mrs.Ella Hastings consulted Monroe Adams,Attorney at Law, Statesville,North Carolina,and he advised her the correct procedure to follow. W.H.Deal who was named Executor in the Will of B.T.Gregory,renounced,and on March 1!+L Mi Ella Hastings was duly appointed Administratrix,Ciuses.(OL the Estate Gregory,by the Clerk of the Superior Court of Iredell County, and on the same day duly Qualified,and executed the bond reaouired by law. Notice to creditors was then duly published in the Statesville Daily, once a week for six consecutive weeks,the first publication being in the issue of March 22,1941. The only personal property in the Estate of 8.T.Gregory was the final dividend from the First National Bank,Statesville,North Carolina. The only real estate owned by B.T.Gregory,deceased,was a tract of land in Shiloh Township,Iredell County,North Carolina,containing Seventy-two and one-half Acres (725),more or less,which land was sold in a Special Proceeding for assets to pay debts,and conveyed to J.P.Waugh and wife,Addie Waugh.
