In 1925,the undersigned Guardian of Marcus L,Harmon received Ten &00/100 ($10.00)Dollars as the landlord's share of the rental of this tract of land,the cultivated land being so poor and in such a run-down condition that it was not profitable to cultivate it in its then present condition. In 1926,your administrator,in his capacity as Guardian of Marcus L. Harmon,entered into an agreement with his brothers and mother who worked the home place and who had the care and maintenance of Marcus L.Harmon,and with whom Marcus L.Harmon lived,that if they would take the 26-1/2 acre tract of land and begin to improve it,cultivating the open field and making improvements such as terracing,liming and other general soil building crops,they could have all that they would make off of the farm since it was being used in the home in which the ward,Marcus L.Harmon was living,and he would share in whatever crops that the farm produced. This practice,your Administrator as Guardian of Marcus L.Harmon, continued from year to year until the death of his ward,Marcus L.Harmon,and during these years the cultivated land has been greatly improved.During this period the land has been cultivated mostly in small grains and cover crops,the field being so infested with Johnson Grass that it was impossible to grow corn or cotton to any advantage,the hay and small grain being used in the home in which Marcus L.Harmon was being kept and the undersigned,as his guardian,believed "" T sn o r e ] “U O W L I e YH es o l that in this way his ward would receive more direct benefit from the crop than he would if your Guardian of Marcus L.Harmon had rented the land and taken the landlord's share.
