HomeMy WebLinkAboutMarch_4_2008_Briefing_MinutesIREDELL COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS BRIEFING MINUTES MARCH 4, 2008 The Iredell County Board of Commissioners met in Briefing Session on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at 5:00 P.M., in the Iredell County Government Center (South Wing Conference Room), 200 South Center Street, Statesville, NC. Board Members Present Vice Chairman Sara Haire Tice Steve Johnson Ken Robertson Godfrey Williams Absent: Chairman Marvin Norman was not at the meeting due to illness. Staff present: County Manager Joel Mashburn, Deputy County Manager Susan Blumenstein, Health Director Donna Campbell, Environmental Health Supervisor David Hinson, Sheriff's Chief Deputy Rick Dowdle, Elections Director Becky Galliher, Planning/Development Director Ron Smith, Fire Marshal Lloyd Ramsey, Solid Waste Director David Lambert, and Clerk to the Board Jean Moore. CALL TO ORDER by Vice Chairman Tice. MIXED BEVERAGE REFERENDUM FOR THE DAVIDSON TOWNSHIP: Elections Director Becky Galliher requested a decision on the possibility of holding a mixed drink referendum for the Davidson Township on May 6. Galliher said § 1813-600 O (3) was the enabling legislation for the election. (The commissioners agreed to place the matter on the consent agenda.) ANNOUNCEMENT THAT MOORESVILLE HAD APPROVED A NEW ZONING ORDINANCE & MAP: Mooresville Commissioner Frank Rader said recently the town had approved a new zoning ordinance and map. Rader said Interim Town Manager Erskine Smith would be requested to send a copy of the document to the county commissioners. Mr. Rader also announced that a new Comprehensive Transportation Plan had been approved by the town along with a Comprehensive Land Use Plan. (All other agenda requests were explained, and a summary about these items may be found in the regular minutes.)
