IREDELL COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
SPECIAL MEETING
July 23, 2019
The Iredell County Board of Commissioners met for a special gathering on Tuesday, July
23, 2019 at 6:00 PM, in the Iredell County Agricultural Center, 444 Bristol Drive, Statesville, NC.
Board Members Present
Chairman James B. Mallory III
Vice Chairman Tommy Bowles
Gene Houpe
Marvin Norman
Ken Robertson
Staff present: County Manager Beth Jones, Deputy County Manager Susan Robertson,
and Assistant County Manager Joe Pierce.
The Board met with Iredell County Cooperative Extension for the annual Report to the
People.
Cooperative Extension Agent Nancy Keith called the meeting to order, introduced her staff,
and recognized attending state and local elected and appointed officials.
Agent Keith expressed appreciation for the working relationship with state and local
government. She briefly explained the different aspects of Cooperative Extension. Attendees were
divided into four groups and asked to visit each booth hosted by various agents within Cooperative
Extension. At each booth, agents described their area of interest and their accomplishments over
the last year.
County Manager Beth Jones and Chairman James Mallory expressed thanks to all of the
staff for their informative presentations.
ADJOURNMENT
MOTION by Commissioner Houpe to adjourn at 8:00 PM. (The next meeting will be
Tuesday, August 6, 2019, 7:00 PM, in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, in the South Wing
Conference Room, Government Center, 200 South Center Street, Statesville, NC)
